Blue for a Boy

My friend recently had a baby boy called Noah (who is just adorable) and I decided this was a good reason to get my apron out again. Around the same time the Boy also got me a new recipe book. If this wasn't a sign, I don't know what is.

Out came my new book, my new apron(which I got for Christmas but had never wore), and out came my laptop for inspiration. I seen these amazing cupcakes over at Smaira's blog and decided they were perfect. The recipes I used( I pushed the boat out and made chocolate and vanilla cupcakes) are from this book...

The Boy bought me this book but I think he got it in Tesco

After flicking through the pages I decided to go for chocolate and vanilla(separately) with blue vanilla frosting.

Ignore the green cupcake cake hiding in the bottom right hand corner. I originally made the frosting too pale and it turned out mint green so I made a new blue batch but ran out and had to resort to the green one. (As soon as I gave them to my friend and was offered on, I ate this one to make sure that no-one else saw it)

This is the chocolate ones with blue frosting, a giant button and an ickle baby foot

This is the vanilla one with blue frosting and sparkly edible glitter

I was so proud of the final cupcakes that I walked about my house showing everyone making them admire them

These are what they looked like when I gave them to my friend

I got the feet, the glitter and the box from www.craftcompany.co.uk/ and I would highly recommend them for baking things

I think that cupcakes are wonderful gifts and will definitely be giving them again

I also got carried away in the baby clothes aisle and bought this outfit as well

So what you think of my cupcakes? And sorry about all the rambling
